White Ribbon NI

White Ribbon is a global movement to end male violence against women. It was formed in 1991 by a group of male students in Canada in response to the brutal massacre of 14 female students. Its goal – which is the same today - was to send out the message that violence against women in all its forms is unacceptable.

Join White Ribbon NI and play your part

Join White Ribbon NI and play your part in a global movement as together we pledge to never commit , condone or remain silent about violence against women and girls

The White Ribbon campaign was formed in 1991 by male students in Canada in response to the brutal massacre of 14 female students. The campaign’s goal remains resolute - to send out the message that male violence against women is unacceptable.

Together we are challenging attitudes and beliefs

that lead to male violence against women. Giving young people the information, they need about healthy relationships is a step we can all take towards being part of the solution. We believe that everyone , including men and boys have an important role to play as allies and agents of change at an individual and systemic societal level.

Through awareness raising and education

White Ribbon NI seeks to end violence against women and girls in all its forms. Together we are empowering business leaders, employers and workforces, community organisations, schools and churches to take a stand.

White Ribbon is a simple message, it is a personal pledge and our voice is strengthened by ALL who choose to make it.
